Sofa King Cozy

You don't even want to know what's under my couch cushions...

Does this scene look familiar to anyone?  Anybody else out there never have their couch cushions where they are supposed to be?

  1. Ha- I have one of those couches that the back is made up of about 12 different pillows- the worst choice for these guys- well they love it but I am so tired of putting my couch back together 1839 times a day.

  2. Thankfully we have a futon and the mattress is too heavy for the boys to lift..otherwise this would certainly be the scene in our house as well

  3. Ahhh, yes. The old squish and smoosh. Very familiar with this one!

  4. HA, that is us, too...you know, when the cushions are actually ON the couch...

  5. Awwwwwww! My eldest used to suck her fingers just like that too.

  6. I wish! Little A is into the rough stuff: jumping off his rocking horse, landing on his knees on wood floors, jumping off stairs, jumping and running in the house...lots of jumping! We do weighted blankets, vests, but his favorite is when we shush him with the beanbag chairs! His OT makes ME sweat!

  7. And no one is discussing THE OTHER THINGS under the cushions. When I take them off to wash the slip cover on the couch, the dogs jump up for a snack - they know there is always food crumbs. It was funny when visiting my in-laws, they burrowed under their cushions to retrieve a peanut. Monster-in-law claimed it could have only been there from guests the previous night but I don't think so...

  8. My daughter has never thought about doing this! I'm sure she would have if she came up with it! She does like to pull the cushions off to make a fort with!

  9. @Kathy: You wash your slipcovers? Am I supposed to be doing that? What else is under my cushions is all of the other stuff that Audrey brings with her when she goes on her little retreats...lots of food crumbs, dried up PlayDoh, and misc little toys, markers, etc. When something's gone missing, it's the first place that I look.

  10. Our couch cushions are NEVER where they're supposed to be. Whenever I go to sit down I always have to yell for the boys to bring a cushion. Our cushions are tents and fortresses.

  11. Stop being so cheap, wedge open that dusty old purse, and buy the poor kid a blanket.

  12. So there's the remote! And the kid!

  13. YES! This is Billy favorite position in which to watch TV :-) What is with that?! I've tried it; it's not very comfortable ...

  14. Wow, I have so many pictures of my son doing the exact same! Always wedged into the couch like it ate half of him :). I think it's kinda sweet and silly!

  15. Ha ha! If sandwiching yourself under a couch cushion was in the DSM for autism we could have diagnosed Danny at 13 months old ;) We have a faux leather sofa (vinyl) so the cozy factor is missing. It makes the weighted blanket at school much more of an incentive though.

  16. Our couch cushions used to be on the floor all the time. ALL. THE. Time! But then we got a hand me down 'new' couch and that couch's cushions? Are sewn into the base of the couch. It reclines so I guess that's why they are sewed in.

  17. Don't you have any blankets for the poor child!??

    LOL!! That's funny!

  18. I just this morning had a conversation with my children wherein I asked why the couch cushions must always be disturbed. Audrey looks like she's loving that deep pressure. My Queen Bee would be in there hollering for someone to come sit on the couch to add even more pressure.

  19. My couch cushions always end up as some kind of fort, somewhere other than on the couch.

  20. We have a slipcover...BUT anything that's on the couch or on the recliner or the rocker... decorative cushions, blankets.... winds up on the floor, while the child and ALL the stuffed animals wind up in their stead.

  21. At least yours are still on the couch.

  22. She looks so cozy!! You just have to look before you plop down on the couch or else that Audrey sandwich may become a little jucier than intended.

  23. That is definately a kid thing. Be glad she's doing it. Everyone of my kids played with the couch cushions EXCEPT for Cody.

  24. Does she like to be cozy like that? Sofa king cute. A good squish is sometimes necessary.

  25. Uh oh...is Audrey hiding from your husband? Did he start hurling objects around the room in frustration during the game today?

At least she found a comfortable hiding spot! ;)

  26. This was one of my favorite activities as a kid, not to mention one of the "best" places to hide in hide-and-seek...

  27. our cushions become forts, too. but I have never EVER seen all of the throw pillows on the couch at the exact time either of my children are in the room. and perhaps I never will.

  28. It's worse in our house: the *backs* of the couch are removable cushions, too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Our cushions are stuck in place; non removable. But they do this with everything else that can be moved.

  30. You mean they're supposed to be ON the sofa? Huh. Maybe I should tell the kids that.

  31. Looks like my couch, except mine has a 5-foot, 120 lb, 14 yo under the cushions. And he wants me to sit on him.

  32. A recliner is a luxurious place where you can feel free from any pressure. Recliners are great options to decorate your home. A leather recliner can be the best option to decorate the room.
