Name, Rank, and Serial Number

Audrey received one of those coloring placemats at a restaurant recently, which also happened to be an entry into a contest that requested some basic information about the artist.

She didn't bother coloring the picture, but regardless felt it her duty to give them her deets:

NAME:  Audrey
AGE:  Best
PHONE:  Rodery

So much for me bragging about her savant-like spelling abilities.  But for reals, what 7 year old even knows that there used to be such a thing as rotary phones to misspell it?

  5. I am very jealous if you do have a rotary. That's pretty kick ass. And I am glad 7 is the best age ever!

  7. Of course her age is the best!! And the rotary? The kids with the -uh- more spectacularly good looking mature moms might pick up this info somehow...

  8. She is sophisticated beyond her years!! Love it!

  10. Ohhh, she's good. And I agree, seven is the best age ever.

That chicken creeps me out...she did right by leaving it alone.

  11. Did that chicken steal those glasses from Justin Bieber? If so, nice work.

  12. She's old school! I think the next iPhone might be rotary. Just a rumor.

  13. Does Stanley's Kitchen & Tap even have CFGF menu options? What in the world were you doing in a restaurant whose mascot is a chicken wearing sunglasses and Converse high tops? This better not be the type of place you take me when I visit this summer. I might have to dine exclusively with Aimee.

  15. Impressive! My kids knew what a corded phone was the other day and that impressed me, so the whole rotary thing has me floored!

  16. Very cool! :-) And time for you to update, if you're still using a rotary!

  18. Love it! So, does your cellphone weigh about 8 pounds? Does someone have to get up and physically change your TV's channels? What kind if primitive conditions are you living in?!

  19. This is awesome! Seven very well might be the best age. Very impressive that she knows there is such a thing as a rotary phone. Makes me wonder a bit about your "iphone" though!

  20. LMAO!! I Love this- funny, I was just saying the other day that I don't think my kids have ever even seen a phone with a cord on it!

I use to think waiting for the dial to spin back after each number on our old rotary phone was so satisfying (I liked the noise) but I also wasn't in much of a hurry as a six-year-old...it would probably bug the hell out of me now.

  21. I think she should win just because she's so clever!

  22. Is returning to rotary phones the step after GFCF?
