Way late to the party here but must point out that my older NT daughter Rose didn't walk until 15 mos and pretty much skipped crawling altogether in favor of a weird kayak-motion butt-scoot.

Joy on the other hand crawled like a champ, walked at 11-ish months... and still isn't talking at 8 years old. Go figure.

I know I’m a little late with this one but I take umbrage with your description of that Time magazine cover as odious. There is nothing wrong with two consenting adults sharing an intimate moment with each other. The fact that she may be a bit of a “cougar” and her man is slightly shorter in stature than average does not make fondling a female breast any less fun and acceptable.

One of the many stupid things I did when Audrey was a baby was sticking with that hellish moms group as if it was the only one on the face of the earth. It was the only one that I'd ever heard of in my area, but a two second Google search would have led me to several others that surely could not have been as bad. The key is finding like-minded people, and I'm sure that they were out there. Look at all of the cool moms I've met via blogging! I've said many times that I wish we could form a support group that was more than virtual. Thanks Jolie!

So glad to see another post, and yes, I agree, I came here to reply as the Patch was making me all afeared.
You bring up excellent points, your title sums it up nicely. I did have a fairly good experience in a MOMS club (Moms Offering Moms Support) which helped me transition from worker to Mommy. However once the competitions started, I bowed out. So I feel like I've seen the good and the bad that can come from a Mommy club, and new Moms should keep trying until they find the support they need. It's all about balance people. Without it you'll go batty.
